5 Components to Physicals Fitness - Prosper Diet Program

What is Physical Health?

To be healthy, a person must have a good level of physical fitness and overall well-being. In addition, it can be defined as a state of physical well-being in which a person can carry out daily activities without any difficulty.

What are the Components of Physical Fitness?

"Fitness" is composed of five components, according to Fit Day: cardio-respiratory endurance; muscular strength; muscular endurance; and body composition. Almost all fitness experts agree that these are the five components of physical fitness, but defining how much fitness is necessary depends on the individual.

There are five components of physical fitness that you need to consider:

#1 Muscular Strength:

Lifting and carrying heavy objects is made easier with this "power." Your body would be weak and unable to keep up with the demands placed on it if it lacked muscular strength. Strength can be increased by lifting heavy weights for 4 to 6 or 12 to 15 reps. Obviously, as the weight increases, the number of reps should decrease!

#2 Muscular Endurance

When your muscles can contract for long periods, you have endurance. Instead of just lifting or carrying something for a few seconds, the muscles are used for several minutes, if not hours. Increase strength by lifting light weights and performing 20 to 25 repetitions. Less weight will train the muscle fibers needed for muscular endurance, and the higher rep range will result in an extended period of exercise.

#3 Cardiovascular Endurance

Your body can keep up with exercise like running, jogging, swimming, or cycling for extended periods. As a team, your heart and lungs provide your muscles with the oxygen they need to perform their jobs. In addition to the Cooper Run (running as far as possible in 12 minutes), many trainers use the Step Test to assess cardiovascular endurance (stepping onto a platform for 5 minutes). There's no doubt that both tests are accurate indicators of a person's cardiovascular endurance.

#4 Flexibility

Despite its importance, flexibility is often overlooked when it comes to fitness. Muscles and joints would stiffen and movement would be restricted if they were not flexible. Stretching and strengthening exercises help you move through the entire range of motion without experiencing any discomfort. For a test of your flexibility, try to touch your toes by leaning backward. Some people can touch their toes while others can't. When you sit on the floor and reach toward your toes, you can test your flexibility as well. Toes and beyond are within reach if you are flexible.

#5 Body Fat Composition

A person's body fat composition refers to how much fat there is on their body. 100-pounder with 25% body fat has 75-pounds of lean mass.

To qualify as fit:
  1. Men must have a body fat composition lower than 17 percent
  2. Women must have a body fat composition lower than 24 percent

The average man tends to have about 18 to 24 percent body fat, while the average woman has 25 to 31 percent body fat.
